The latest rumour doing the rounds is that Chelsea could be trying to land Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina and Sami Khedira from Real Madrid.
Jovetic’s current contract runs out in 2013 and although he is expected to sign a new one, Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona are thought to still want him, possibly for as much as £21m if he does indeed extend his current deal.
Although the Montenegro international has played down a move away from the Violas, telling Sky Italia; “I read in the newspaper that many clubs are interested…I don’t know if any of this is true but I’m always focused on Fiorentina.”
His agent, will be meeting with the Fiorentina board after Sunday’s clash with Lazio. Fali Ramadani said; “These are just rumours…our priority is to meet with the leaders of Fiorentina. Jovetic is having a great time in Florence, he’s reiterated that more than once.”
Meanwhile Khedira is reportedly out of favour with Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, sparking interest from his old club Bayern Munich, AC Milan and in particular Chelsea.
Mourinho blamed the German international for getting sent off in Los Blancos’s surprise defeat at the hands of Levante last month.
And although Khedira played in Real’s Champions League victory over Ajax, he has only made two starts this season and Mourinho is looking to blood Turkish summer signings Hamit Altintop and Nuri Sahin.
Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas is looking for a midfield holder, as there are doubts over Michael Essien’s recovery from a long-term knee ligament injury.
The only areas for consideration would be the expected £20m fee and the fact that Khedira would not be able to play for Chelsea in the Champions Legaue, having already featured Real.
