Manchester City have their sights set on securing the quadruple in the current campaign but it won’t be easy as they’ll need to overturn a one-goal deficit in the Champions League, and Liverpool are currently leading the race for the Premier League title.
The Citizens have been nothing short of dominant in the Premier League but they didn’t look their usual selves against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League, so they’ll be desperate to get back to winning ways.
But, it appears as if the Citizens are more focused on the summer transfer window at this moment in time, as according to The Sun, Txiki Begiristain watched Luka Jovic in action last night.
Indeed, the Serbian international has established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe in the current campaign, having produced an incredible 25 goals and seven assists for Eintracht Frankfurt.
He was even described as ‘unbelievable’ by his Frankfurt team-mate Filip Kostic (as per Bundesliga), which should provide City with even more incentive to go out and sign him.
But, one worry for Manchester City fans at this moment in time is the future of Sergio Aguero as he’s getting older by the day and may only have a couple more seasons of elite level performance left in him.
However, Pep Guardiola can bag himself the perfect long-term replacement for the Argentine by snapping up Jovic as he’s only 21 years of age and he’s already shown he can produce incredible numbers. And, he’s very similar to the Manchester City man as he looks to make use of his pace, strength and finishing ability in the final third.
The defending Premier League champions will have to stump up the cash though as he’s valued at £49.5 million (by Transfermarkt), and there’s still plenty of time for him to add to his tally to increase the hype surrounding him.
