Things are going pretty well for Liverpool this season as Jurgen Klopp’s side currently sit at the top of the Premier League table.
And, according to the German manager, their current campaign could be about to get better as he has been handed the “best news”.
The England international picked up a knee injury in their Champions League semi-final win over AS Roma and was expected to miss the whole of the current campaign.
However, the midfielder has been making a rapid recovery and could be in line to make a return to full training in a few weeks, giving him a chance of playing a role in their title charge.
“Best news, best news,” Klopp beamed.
“He started going on the pitch and from the first step he looked completely normal. With Ox from the first step it looked like Ox and it was really nice. We had to wait for the reaction and there was no reaction, which is even nicer. So, no pressure on him but it looks like February maybe he is back in normal training – maybe late February/March. So that gives us hope he will be back this season.”
The news that Oxlade-Chamberlain could be available before the end of the season will be great news for Liverpool and their title charge.
Although the Reds have been dealing extremely well without him, the 25-year-old has played a key role for the Premier League side in the past.
Liverpool will want to ensure they are still within the title picture when he could potentially return and will turn their attention to hosting Arsenal on Saturday.
