Despite the transfer window slamming shut on Thursday in England, Liverpool still expect a number of players to leave the club.
Jurgen Klopp has only seen Emre Can, Danny Ward and Danny Ings leave Anfield this summer, however, he has admitted that there could still be some movement with clubs in Europe still able to make transfers until the end of August.
Can joined Italian outfit Juventus on a free transfer after he rejected a new deal to remain at Anfield whilst Ward completed a switch to Leicester City, following the arrival of Alisson Becker from AS Roma.
Ings completed a last-minute switch to Southampton on an initial loan deal, however, that is expected to turn into a permanent arrangement next summer.
And, it appears that Klopp does not feel that is the end of the possible departures, suggesting that things could still happen towards the end of August.
“The window is only one way closed so we cannot buy any more but we can sell not in Premier League – but it is clear that a few things will happen,” he told Sky Sports.
Liverpool will have been pleased to have got their incomings done rather early, however, they would have liked to offload some of their squad before the window in England closed.
Yet, with transfers still able to be conducted inside Europe, Klopp will be convinced that he can reduce his side with potential outgoings to some of Europe’s bigger clubs.
Simon Mignolet is understood to have attracted interest from Spain and Italy, whilst clubs may also look to make a move for Divock Origi could also be shifted on this summer.
