Liverpool will head to Molineux and face a potentially tricky test against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night as they look to extend the gap at the top of the Premier League table.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will need to be wary about Nuno Espirito Santo’s team as they have proven to be able to handle themselves against some of the league’s biggest sides at home.
The Reds will be without Trent Alexander-Arnold for the game, with Nathaniel Clyne likely to continue in his absence, however, the manager did provide a positive update about his right-back.
Klopp revealed that the 20-year-old could be back in contention for Liverpool once the festive period is over, admitting the youngster had a ‘surprisingly’ good outlook.
“It actually looks surprisingly good,” he told the club’s official website. “I think Wolves will still be a bit too early but after that, they told me we can think about him.
“But for that, he needs to train. So far he didn’t train but the pain goes down second by second, which is good, and then in the moment when he can deal with it, he is on the pitch, and in the moment he is on the pitch we’ll make a decision.
“But it looks good for Trent.”
Alexander-Arnold has emerged as an exciting talent at Liverpool over the past few seasons and has put in a number of impressive performances for club and country.
The news that he could be available sooner than expected will be huge for the club as the festive period continues to pick up the pace when games are concerned.
However, Klopp and Liverpool will need to turn their attention towards Wolves, who have proved to be a difficult opposition to come up against, if they want to extend their advantage at the top of the Premier League table.
