Ahead of Liverpool’s crunch clash with Premier League Champions Leicester this weekend, the Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are delighted that this ace won’t miss out…
Liverpool fans here in the Tavern held their breath when they heard that Sadio Mane had picked up an injury whilst representing his native Senegal during the international break.
Mane has been a standout player for Liverpool since his £36 million move from Southampton – and to be without the pacey forward for Liverpool’s weekend clash with Leicester would have been a huge miss for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Fans of rival clubs were spreading rumours around the Tavern that Mane would be out for an extended period of time – but those suggestions appear to have been proven false.
According to The Sun, Mane is set to be fit for this weekend’s round of fixtures, after recovering from the injury in record time.
They also report that Klopp actually called Mane to find out more about the injury, such was his concern about the longevity of the Senegalese international’s layoff.
Nonetheless, despite being brought off in Senegal’s fixture against Namibia – Mane appears set to continue his fine start to the season against Leicester on Saturday.
Mane has settled into life at Liverpool well, immediately becoming a key part of Liverpool’s attacking machine – even popping up with a goal on the opening day as Liverpool beat Arsenal 4-3.
The Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have been particularly impressed with Mane’s dribbling and attacking prowess, with one particularly vocal Liverpool fan claiming that the midfielder is the signing of the summer.
Whilst we aren’t yet convinced about that one just yet, Mane has definitely made a good start to life at Anfield – as the below video demonstrates…
Time will tell how good a signing Mane actually is – but he has done all the right things so far.
