‘Just love this man’ – Everton fans on Twitter demand club properly reward key star

The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have been calling for the club to make their passionate right-back, Seamus Coleman, captain for next season. The Irish international has been at the club for eight and a half years after signing from Sligo Rovers way back in January 2009. Since then he’s gone on to amass over 250 appearances for the club.

The Everton fans propping our bar up would love nothing more than winning a trophy for the first time since they picked up the FA Cup back in 1995, to put that into context, Seamus Coleman would have been just 6-years-old back when his current club last tasted victory and were able to left some silverware. Now though, he’ll be keen to rectify that and help new coach, Marco Silva, end the club’s 22-year wait for glory.

The fans will be keen to get on with a mass overhaul of the squad that was promised by Farhad Moshiri and get some new faces in. Last summer was a resounding failure for all involved at Goodison Park. The club splashed around £200 million on players and saw a number of high profile flops. Only Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jordan Pickford managed to live up to their price tags in a tough season for the Bluenoses.

The Everton fans in the Tavern absolutely love Coleman and it would be a superb move by Silva to get the fans onside if he made the Irish international captain
