Italian giants Juventus have insisted their interest in Liverpool’s Luis Suarez will not detract them from their move for Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie as they look for a dream strike partnership.
Sky Sports report Juventus want to pair the Liverpool star and Arsenal captain in what they see as a dream attack.
Juventus have made a firm move for Van Persie but have been unable to reach an agreement with Arsenal as they stand firm over their valuation of their captain.
Whilst trying to hammer out a deal for RVP it was understood they are were also working on a deal for Luis Suarez. Their admiration for the Uruguayian forward is long-standing and the Italians have been keen on him for a while.
Suarez is hardly the most popular man in the Premier League but he is held in high regard by the Anfield faithful who stood by him during the infamous Patrice Evra affair as did the club as a whole. Suarez signing a new contract is of course the killer blow in this tale – wanting a transfer a few days after signing a new contract is pushing it – even by modern footballer’s standards.
A move to Juventus for RVP has to be a case of the Italians dreaming.
This would hardly be a step up for RVP as he plays for one of the top clubs in England and in Europe. Juventus have a better chance of domestic success than Arsenal and Liverpool but in terms of the Champions League neither can realistically challenge. So whilst an Italian league title would be nice it isn’t held in great regard in world football and given the troubles Serie A has seen recently is it a good move for any player?
Lets just say, more top class footballers are leaving Serie A than joining it.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
