Juventus join hunt for Arsenal’s prime midfield target

IscoArsenal fans are groaning in frustration in the Transfer Tavern after reports suggested they face growing competition in the race for a stellar acquisition in January.

TalkSport state that Arsenal are extremely keen to bring unsettled Real Madrid midfielder Isco to the Premier League but now Juventus have joined the hunt, which could hand a major blow to Arsene Wenger’s plans.

Per the reports, the Champions League finalists are prepared to offer a whopping £28m for the player’s services with the player falling-out with manager Rafael Benitez.

Isco, formerly playing under Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini during the duo’s spell at Malaga, could be on the move in the New Year as he seeks regular first-team football.

Arsenal see him as an ideal midfield addition, capable of replacing Santi Cazorla in the long-term and feature in wide areas when required, but Juventus’ emergence presents an issue; with the Turin side keen to bolster their own ranks.

Juventus’ emergence on the market is hardly surprising given their failed transfer plans in the summer, which saw them fail to lure Oscar or Julian Draxler to Italy.

Arsenal fans at the bar are confident they can win the race though but that could be down to the fact they’ve gone through a whole barrel of our finest bitter.

Would Isco be the perfect Arsenal signing? Can the Gunners pull this move off? Let us know in the comments below!
