Ben Jefferson from The Express reports that Juventus are eyeing a cheeky transfer bid for Luis Suarez and could offer Reds targets Claudio Marchisio and Leonardo Bonucci to smooth out a deal with the Anfield cub.
The latest reports have indicated that Brendan Rodgers has been tracking both midfielder Marchisio and defender Bonucci with a view to possible swoop in the January transfer window.
But that would see the outstanding Uruguay international heading to Turin as part of the transfer, something Liverpool fans don’t want to see.
The former Ajax man was the subject of intense transfer speculation over the summer, but he remained at Anfield with the club reluctant to sell their star striker.
Despite this, Jefferson suggests that throwing in the two players will give the Reds food for thought as Rodgers’ seeks to toughen up his ahead of this crucial Premier League run in.
Marchisio has been linked with Monaco in recent times with former Juve boss Claudio Ranieri keen to take the 27-year-old to the Stade Louis II but so far the Turin club’s £25 million asking price has proved a stumbling block to any move.
Bonucci meanwhile has also been in impressive form for Juve this season, and it seems that the Bianconeri value the former Inter Milan player at no less than £15 million.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool follow up their interest in the pair or whether they are sufficiently deterred by Juventus’ provocative counter offer.
Will we see this incredible transfer rumour coming to fruition or is it better off as tomorrow’s fish and chip paper? Let us know your thoughts below.
