Juventus Looking To Land Chelsea’s Greatest ‘Invincible’?

The Metro are speculating that Serie A big boys Juventus are considering a summer move for Chelsea legend Frank Lampard should Abramovich continue with his ‘project’.

Juventus are already believed to be interested in Chelsea duo Ivanovic and Meireles and are keen to make it a hat-trick with the signing of Frank Lampard.

Everyone is aware of Abramovich’s desire to ship out the ‘old guard’ and replace them with rising stars. Although this may have changed after the ‘old guards’ heroics in the Champions League.

Frank Lampard has denied he would consider a move by stating:

“I love Chelsea and, ideally, I will be here longer than just one more season,

I look at people like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs at Manchester United and see what they are still doing and I would love to do the same for Chelsea. I want to emulate them”.

Lampard added talks about a new deal are scheduled to take place in the summer and that he would be “more than happy to continue” if the club still want him.

Lampard made a very good point in his statement by referring to Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. Why is it players at other clubs, excellent, legendary players can continue to play until they want but at Chelsea it seems once players hit 30 the media are telling us to ship them out.

Frank Lampard is a true legend, both at Chelsea and in the Premier League, I for one would love to see super Frank end his career at Chelsea and do so when he feels the time is right.

Yes clubs have to evolve but why not keep these players and allow the younger players time to learn from them and develop. Players such as Lampard, Drogba, Terry command respect in a dressing room and they are winners.

Arsenal moved on their invincible team too quickly and have now gone 8 years without a trophy. If Chelsea decide to move all the ‘old guard’ on this summer and replace them with young players who have “potential” then this move could prove fatal.
