Juventus sanction temporary exit for Arsenal’s defensive target

Rugani.jpgArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t sure whether to be happy or disappointed with the latest transfer reports, which identify a huge development in the race for one of Europe’s finest defensive talents.

TalkSportĀ state that Juventus will listen to Daniele Rugani’s demands for first-team football and will approve an exit in January but only on a short-term basis.

The defender, likened to Italy’s World Cup winning captain, is valued very highly by Juventus and is seen as their first-choice central defender in the future.

Therefore, the Turin giants are only prepared to let Rugani leave on-loan in January; which is a significant blow to Arsenal and it may put Napoli as the favourites for his services.

On a short term deal, it’s likely Juventus would want to see Rugani continue his development in Italian football and would therefore prefer the player to move to Naples, rather than West London.

There’s also the debate as to whether Rugani would get game-time in the current Arsenal team, with Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista performing well. Therefore, fans at the bar aren’t convinced Arsenal should bother pushing for this deal.

Arsenal fans, do you need another central defender? Is it worth getting Rugani on-loan? Let us know in the comments below!
