Here at the Football Transfer Tavern we are still in shock at the fact that Chelsea are not offering a new contract to Frank Lampard and Goal.com claim that an LA Galaxy player is hoping the midfielder will sign for them.
Robbie Keane claimed that the player who is soon to be the top goal scorer at Chelsea would be welcomed with open arms at the MLS side and claimed: “Listen, we need players like that, and bringing in Frank Lampard would obviously be good for the team. So hopefully, we will see him soon.”
Of course the future of Lampard is still unresolved with some fans here at the tavern still hoping that a new contract will be offered to the legend and even the 34-year-old himself is unsure of what the future holds. Given that Chelsea will almost certainly have a new manager in place next season, that again could change the fate for Lampard and this could well disappoint Robbie Keane and supporters of the MLS.
Lampard was left out and given a rest from the midweek Europa League victory over Sparta Prague but is expected to return to the Blues starting line up for Sunday’s big game against second placed Manchester City.
