‘Keep the bench warm’, ‘Liability’ – Liverpool fans slam star following injury update on Twitter

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping their side will comfortably progress to the 5th round of the FA Cup this weekend with a victory over West Bromwich Albion at Anfield.

The last thing Jurgen Klopp needs at this stage in the season is any extra fixtures, so he should be ensuring that his players avoid any complacency in their 4th round tie against West Brom on Saturday evening. The priority for Liverpool this season will be to finish inside the top-four in the Premier League, and an FA Cup replay could prove damaging to their Champions League ambition.

With that to consider, Klopp could be tempted to rotate his squad slightly this weekend to conserve the energy of his key players. However, the German manager will not have the luxury of resting Andrew Robertson this weekend because Alberto Moreno has not yet fully recovered from injury – unless he opts to start another defender in unfamiliar territory at left-back.

Moreno returned to training this week after almost 2 months on the sideline, but his return has failed to capture the imagination of The Reds faithful on Twitter who have been extremely impressed by Roberton’s performances whilst deputising for Moreno.

Judging by the reaction on Twitter so far, it appears that the Liverpool fans are eager to see Robertson continue as the clubs first-choice left-back when Moreno is eventually fit enough to play competitive football again.

Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about Moreno’s return on Twitter…
