One of Everton’s misfits has revealed that he is currently happy away from Goodison Park and is pushing for a permanent departure.
Kevin Mirallas has been enjoying himself whilst on loan at Fiorentina this season and believes that his time with the Serie A outfit could be a brilliant opportunity for him to get some stability back into his life.
The Belgian winger has fallen out of favour at the Toffees and spent the second half of last season with former club Olympiacos, however, things did not go smoothly during his time back in Greece.
However, he is now in Tuscany with La Viola on a season-long deal with a view to a permanent transfer, something the 31-year-old has hoped will happen.
Speaking to La Nazione, he said: “My biggest goal is to stay in purple, to convince the management to redeem my contract because I would like to continue my journey for a long time, I think only to be a protagonist this season to show that I am up to the task.
“It is an absolutely perfect club for me, I like the city, beautiful and welcoming, with me and with my family, here everything is “super” and I am ready to show that I am in the right place: I do not live this experience as a moment of passage, for me it is an extraordinary goal.”
Mirallas started off well at Goodison Park, however, his performances started to slip and following Marco Silva’s arrival, he quickly became surplus to requirements.
Fiorentina offers the 31-year-old a chance to get his career back on track, especially after a hard couple of years that have not seen him enjoy his best football.
However, it is thought his performances for La Viola will need to improve over the course of the Serie A campaign if he is to get a permanent move, as he has not exactly lit up Italian football just yet.
If he fails to do so, he would be looking at returning to Goodison Park, where his contract does not expire until the summer of 2020.
