Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are looking forward to the summer transfer window, as they may be able to challenge for a European spot if they can improve before next season.
The Magpies will be hoping for improvements next season as they flirted with the possibility of relegation at times. Although, many of our local northerners are more worried about the club’s managerial situation, as Rafa Benitez is yet to agree on a new deal. But, the future looks bright for Newcastle United supporters, as according to a statement from Rafa Benitez via journalist Chris Waugh’s Twitter account, the Spaniard will have more talks and his people will hold talks with Lee Charnley to try and progress.
Rafa Benitez’s future continues to be surrounded with doubt as an agreement is still yet to be reached. The Spaniard wants to know if the club will meet his ambitions as Mike Ashley hasn’t exactly given him full backing in the past, but this has caused for many of our local residents to become anxious as time continues to tick away.
Although, it looks as if Benitez is looking to get a deal done as his people will hold talks with Lee Charnley to try and progress, while he himself will have more talks with the club.
Here’s what he had to say when he was asked about his future:
“We have pre-season organised, we will go away to Ireland & then be ready. I will have more talks with the club. My job is to be sure that the players are focused for Chelsea, then my people have to talk with Lee Charnley to try & progress”
Newcastle United supporters will be delighted that more talks have been planned, however, many of our local residents may start to fear the worst if this goes on for much longer. Although, with supposed progression talks to be held with Lee Charnley, perhaps the club and Benitez will be able to come to some sort of agreement in no time.
