Sheffield United have had a superb season down in the Championship following their return from League One, and manager Chris Wilder deserves a huge amount of praise for how he has got the Blades performing.
Sitting just outside the playoff spots, United have a real chance of reaching the top six and getting a second successive promotion under their belt.
Here at the Tavern, our landlord loves welcoming the Blades fans in at a weekend. They create quite the atmosphere and are always up for a good chat, and this week has been no different, with fans discussing the summer and potential incomings and outgoings.
One player the United fans fear could be lost is defender Jack O’Connell, who has been superb this season to build on his impressive campaign for the club last time out.
Playing on the left hand side of a three at the back, O’Connell has become one of the toughest defenders in the league, and is rarely beaten in one on one situations. Strong in the air too, O’Connell is a real presence at the back, and a move to a team like Everton may well suit him down to the ground.
The Blades have a rich history of completing transfer deals with the Toffees, and much like Phil Jagielka a decade ago, O’Connell has the potential to go on and become a superb addition for Sam Allardyce and the Goodison Park club.
Toffees and Blades fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
