Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has affirmed his commitment to Tottenham and put to bed any slight fears he could potentially leave, which has delighted fans at the Transfer Tavern’s bar.
The French international joined the London club from Lyon in 2012 and has gone on to make a name for himself playing 170 times since.
Not only has this contributed significantly to the 30-year-old acquiring a stellar reputation for himself in England, but also enabled him to represent him country 90 times.
Manchester United have also had a rumoured interested in the shot-stopper for years as well just in case Real Madrid did decide to swoop in for David De Gea.
Lloris is one of a few world class keepers so this interest is understandable, according to punters at the bar.
Despite interest from different clubs, Lloris is committed to Spurs and sees himself there for the foreseeable future.
“Since the beginning of my time with Spurs I believed in the project and even more under Mauricio Pochettino because he’s one of the best managers in the world,” he told ESPN.
“The club is very competitive too, we show that every season in the Premier League, it’s true that we need to improve in European competition compared to the other clubs in Europe, but listen, step by step we are building something strong at Spurs and it’s a very exciting time to be a Spurs player.”
European competition is something Spurs fans in the Tavern haven’t stopped talking about since qualifying last season, something which will no doubt motivate Lloris to improve his performances even more.
