And with relegation looking increasingly likely each week, this is a thought echoed by the former Sunderland Director of Football Roberto De Fanti, who shared his thoughts with Italian media outlet TuttoSport – reported via The Chronicle.
Roberto De Fanti works as an agent for Sunderland duo Vito Mannone and Fabio Borini and he has confirmed that the duo are likely to be two of many who may leave.
Sunderland goalkeeper Vito Mannone has had to play second fiddle to emerging star Jordan Pickford for much of this season but De Fanti still believes he will leave the Black Cats if they go down.
According to reports in the Italian media (via the Hertfordshire Mercury), the Italian stopper has recently emerged as a target for Watford, Genoa and Atalanta.
As for Fabio Borini, the Italian forward has been linked with Celtic.
The 26-year-old has missed large chunks of this season through injury but his agent Roberto De Fanti believes that he will leave Sunderland rather than play for them in the Championship.
