Tottenham Hotspur will play Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday in the Premier League’s lunchtime kickoff.
It is a fixture that will see Kieran Trippier make a return to the club that Spurs purchased him from in 2015 and has helped to develop him into one of the country’s best right-backs.
And, it appears the 28-year-old is fond of his time at the club and has revealed that he ‘would love to play’ for Sean Dyche again in the future, as he believes he is the man that helped him turn his footballing career around.
Speaking to the Burnley Express, he said: “I still talk to the gaffer on a regular basis and that’s the same with some of the lads. I’ve always kept in touch with them.
“We were close when I was at Burnley and I would love to play for him again one day. We usually talk once every two weeks, just to keep each other updated on things.”
Trippier always looked a promising player during his time at Burnley and things have really taken off for him since being at Tottenham with Mauricio Pochettino guiding his development.
Valued at £31.5million by Transfermarkt, the 28-year-old’s form has slightly dipped over the past few months, which has seen some question how much more he can bring to the squad.
The comments that he made are likely just a reflection on his time at Burnley and the admiration that he has for Dyche, nothing for Spurs’ fans to really be concerned by.
