AC Milan striker and Arsenal and Spurs target Klass Jan Hunterlaar has sent an S.O.S message to his prospective suitors. Out of favour at the San Siro, the 26 year old Dutchmen has told his agent, Arnold Oosterveethen, who then kindly told a popular italian website, that he doesn’t mind where he plays, as long as he does. Oostervee said;
“he wants to play more, that is all he wants. It’s not because in the summer the World Cup will take place and he wants to be there, but it’s also important for him.
Many European teams have shown an interest in Klaas, he doesn’t have a preference regarding any particular country.
His priority right now is to find more playing time at Milan or to fight for trophies, either staying in Italy or playing in Germany or England”
His priority, right now, might be to stay and fight for his place in the Rossoneri, but after making only 13 appearances for Milan since signing from Real Madrid last summer, and grabbing only 3 goals in the process, it seems unlikely his priorities will be met.
Huntelaar has been heavily linked with both North London clubs in the January transfer window, as well as Man United, Everton, Ajax and Liverpool. However with Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp about to hijack Eidur Gudjohnsen’s move to West Ham, the Dutch striker may also now emerge as a target for the Hammers.
However Huntelaar’s plea hasn’t moved Milans sporting director Ariedo Braida who said;
“Huntelaar will stay here, every other discussion is superficial. Arsenal? No. I repeat the player will stay at Milan,”
