Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be preparing for their Champions League final with Real Madrid, however, they will still be expecting transfer activity to happen in the summer.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been successful during the European competition but he will be disappointed that his team could not compete across all the tournaments that they were involved with.
It is believed he will want to bring in a number of players to Anfield this summer, with a goalkeeper, an attacker and two central defenders, according to reports. The Independent are claiming that both James Tarkowski and Jamaal Lascelles are being targeted, with the German an admirer of their season.
Tarkowski excelled for Burnley during their impressive campaign that has seen them head into the Europa League for the very first time whilst Lascelles had a solid time captaining Newcastle United.
The Reds would immediately be improved in defence with either of these players being added to the squad, as they would line up alongside Virgil van Dijk in the centre.
The two defenders were unlucky not to be involved with the England squad for this summer’s World Cup tournament, however, the fact that they both were considered and are of interest to one of the ‘Big Six’ shows how widely-regarded the duo are.
