The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a few changes at Anfield this summer…
After a stellar start to the season, the Reds have struggled in recent weeks – and whilst Jurgen Klopp’s side looked likely to pose a title challenge this season, their hopes have quickly faded away as the season has progressed.
They are still, of course, in with a chance, but the likelihood is reducing by the week – and for many of the Reds in the Transfer Tavern, next season could yet bring more growth.
Clearly, though, Liverpool need a bit more depth and a few more quality players if they want to genuinely challenge next season, and it appears as though Jurgen Klopp agrees.
According to the Sun, Liverpool are keeping tabs on West Ham ace Pedro Obiang, as Jurgen Klopp looks to add a bit of depth to his midfield line.
Whilst West Ham have struggled this year, Obiang has impressed – and he has really made a name for himself as a commanding, powerful central midfielder.
Conversely, Liverpool have struggled in the midfield, with the likes of Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum failing to live up to expectations so far this season. Jordan Henderson has had a good campaign so far, but he needs a bit more reinforcement alongside him if Liverpool want to continue to challenge.
Our landlord thinks that Obiang would certainly fill that void, and Jurgen Klopp seemingly agrees.
