The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern had been expecting Philippe Coutinho to return to action this weekend, and they have now received some news on the matter…
As confirmed by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ahead of the game, Coutinho has returned to training – with the Brazilian reportedly ‘running’ during the session yesterday. Elaborating, the German described the situation as ‘positive’, seemingly hinting that his star attacker will be available for the vitally important game.
This is certainly a big boost for Liverpool, with the return of Coutinho only going to make the game easier for the Reds. Able to control the game from the midfield, the Reds in the pub are dreaming of the Brazilian linking up with Adam Lallana once more. The Englishman, of course, replaced Coutinho when he went off injured last weekend.
The game against Southampton is an important one for Liverpool, and a win should stand them in good stead to secure a top four finish. For Klopp, he will be delighted that his best players are becoming available once more.
