The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are pretty disappointed about the recent form of their side…
Despite expecting a title challenge at the start of the season, Liverpool have struggled in recent weeks – with Jurgen Klopp’s side only managing a draw with Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
Following the game, Klopp had some choice words to say about his side, and he even threw a comment Chelsea’s way, which will no doubt please the Blues in the Transfer Tavern.
According to the Daily Mail, Klopp said: “‘Probably (if it was) Chelsea, for example, the opponent would not have the ball three times in the last 20 minutes”.
Elaborating, he said: “Yes, we don’t have this experience”.
Though stated in a roundabout way, Klopp is certainly praising Conte’s Chelsea here. The German appears to be criticising the way that his side often fall asleep towards the end of the game, resultantly often letting sides back into the game. Chelsea, meanwhile, remain strong until the final whistle – a key factor in their rise to the top of the table. This was on display whilst the Reds took on Bournemouth on Wednesday, with Chelsea seeing out an impressive 2-1 victory over Man City.
Our landlord thinks that Liverpool are just a few changes away from greatness, with Klopp clearly needing to add a bit more steel to his defence. Chelsea’s main successes this year have come from the back, and with the Liverpool manager clearly a fan of the Blues – maybe he needs to take a page out of Conte’s book.
