Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping their side will be better when they face Real Madrid in the Champions League than this weekend’s performance.
The Reds were beaten by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and looked poor compared to their normal displays this season, although a tough midweek trip to Italy may still have been having it’s after effects.
Jurgen Klopp will want to improve his side regardless of whether the club lifts the Champions League trophy or not, and has revealed he is interested in signing a La Liga star should he become available.
The Sun are reporting that the German would like to sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona after he has struggled to make an impression since joining Borussia Dortmund last summer. In fairness, injuries have wrecked his progress, whilst failing to settle in the city has had its problems for him.
“Is he on the market? Now I’m interested,” he told the media outlet, although many feel it could have been a joke being made by the Liverpool boss.
The 20-year-old has only finished one match out of nine starts and could be available, following rumoured interest from the Catalan giants about a move for Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.
The Liverpool fans in the Tavern will already be looking forward to Naby Keita joining them at Anfield next season but the addition of Dembele would also be welcomed. A number of the locals would look to see how the Barcelona man could help though, with the Reds already having a number of attacking players in the side performing so well.
