Klopp ‘expected’ to make major Liverpool change tonight as early news emerges

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Transfer Tavern have been delighted with the fine form of Mo Salah this season. The Egyptian has been nothing short of a revelation at Anfield this season, having fired his way to the top of the Premier League goalscoring chart.

He’s been a near constant feature in Jurgen Klopp’s first team this season, but the German boss seemingly is ready to make a major decision in that regard ahead of Liverpool’s clash with West Brom this evening. According to the Daily Mail, Salah is ‘expected’ to be rested this evening against the Baggies as Klopp continues his methods of carefully managing his squad’s fitness.

If true, it would certainly be a major call from the German, given just how good Salah has been this term. He was, once again, their most important player at the weekend against Everton, with his goal opening the scoring for his side.

In that sense, then, it might seem like a strange decision, but it does make sense, too. The Reds have so many games over the next few weeks, and given how much he has already played this season, that will undoubtedly have had an impact on his fitness levels. A break could help keep him injury free, whilst it will also ensure that he stays at 100% – because Liverpool desperately need him as the season progresses.

Landlord’s Verdict

It will be interesting to see how Liverpool will cope without Salah this evening.

If nothing else, it will show if the Reds can deal without the Egyptian wing wizard, which if they succeed, should give them confidence ahead of a vital run of fixtures.
