Liverpool fans playing darts in the Transfer Tavern are excited to see what manager Jurgen Klopp has up his sleeve this summer ahead of his first full season in charge of the Reds, and it seems he’s got a Bundesliga man in his sights.
TalkSport, citing claims from German outlet Bild, state Jurgen Klopp is keen on a move for FC Koln’s German goalkeeper Timo Horn, as he looks to increase the quality of his goalkeeping contingent at Anfield.
The 22-year-old German has been tipped as the likely successor to Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer as Germany’s number-one stopper and Klopp has long held admiration for the Bundesliga asset, who’s helped propel his side to a surprise standing this term.
With Simon Mignolet failing to impress thoroughly at Anfield, Klopp is keen to match Horn’s £7m release-clause and bring him to Merseyside this summer, along with fellow Bundesliga man Joel Matip, who’s already agreed a free-transfer.
Our landlord believes the young goalkeeper would be a quality addition to the squad and that Mignolet would be a respectable back-up option in reserve.
