Though it was a quiet day for the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern yesterday, the Reds propping up the bar eagerly watched Deadline Day unfold with some of their fellow drinkers.
With Jurgen Klopp having splashed the cash earlier on in the window, one of the major themes being discussed amongst the various Merseyside punters were to do with players leaving Anfield.
Amid the charismatic German’s colossal rebuild, the closing stages of the window saw the likes of Mario Balotelli, Andre Wisdom and Lazar Markovic finally depart.
While those in the Tavern are delighted to see some of the deadwood leave the club for once and for all, reports from the Daily Mirror claim the manager himself is far from happy.
They suggest the 49-year-old is furious with defender Mamadou Sakho for not wanting to leave the Kop giants when they warned him to go.
After being suspended by UEFA towards the tail end of the campaign, the Frenchman missed the end of the season and Euro 2016.
Despite being warned he does not have much hope of featuring at all this season, Klopp is claimed to be deeply frustrated.
Has Sakho ruined all chance he had of making his way back into Klopp’s plans? Let us know below…
