Liverpool fans here in the Tavern are feeling extremely confident that their side can finish the season strongly, as they can secure a place in the top-four.
The Reds haven’t enjoyed the best of seasons in terms of the Premier League as they’ve struggled for consistency at times, but it’s a whole different story in Europe as Liverpool are into the Champions League final. And, manager Jurgen Klopp provided a positive fitness update prior to the final day of the Premier League season, as according to Liverpool’s official website, Adam Lallana may get an opportunity against Brighton.
Liverpool will be gearing up for the final game in their Premier League season as they welcome Brighton and Hove Albion to Merseyside. Although, tensions will be high as the Reds could miss out on a Champions League spot if they suffer defeat and Chelsea secure all three points against Newcastle.
Encouragingly, the Reds will head into the game with an impressive attacking player back in their ranks, as Adam Lallana may get an opportunity. Indeed, the 30-year-old has not featured for Liverpool since sustaining a hamstring injury at the end of March but returned to full training last week.
And, when Klopp was asked if Lallana might be used against Brighton, he had this to say:
“Yesterday [he trained] normally. It’s a long time with no football but Adam is Adam, so it looks quite OK, to be honest.
“The perfect thing now would be to start with minutes; we’ll see if we have the opportunity to do that. But [he is] as fit as possible, I would say.”
Adam Lallana has struggled to break into the starting lineup during the current campaign, as injuries continue to take their toll on his footballing career. Although, he may get an opportunity against Brighton and Hove Albion, which is something that many of our local Liverpudlians are rather excited about.
