The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are very excited by the prospect of Mohamed Salah moving to Anfield this summer…
The Roma winger has impressed over the last year, performing spectacularly in Serie A for the Italian outfit – and those fine performances have not gone unnoticed. Liverpool have been linked with the attacker in recent weeks, but if the Liverpool Echo is to be believed, the Reds may be forced to move on from the player.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are refusing to be held to ransom by Roma this summer over a move, with the Italian side already rejecting a move of £28 million. Instead, it is noted that the Reds may look elsewhere and consider their options, with Klopp unhappy to pay over the odds to land the attacker.
Clearly, Salah is a top player. He bagged an impressive 15 goals and 11 assists last season, but there are certainly question marks over the Egyptian that could put the Reds off from putting in a bigger offer. Of course, his previous stint with Chelsea was a very poor one. He really struggled to adapt, and there are fears amongst the Reds in the Transfer Tavern that he could struggle upon a Premier League return. What’s more, Salah and Mane are fairly similar players – and our landlord has questioned whether they could play in the same side together.
There are a host of top attackers on display in Europe, and Klopp would not be wise to pigeonhole himself. If he can get a good deal, our landlord thinks that Salah could be a good signing – but he doesn’t think that the German should rule out looking elsewhere.
