Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are praising Jurgen Klopp for his early transfer activity, after hearing reports that the German is edging towards his fourth summer signing.
The Daily Express, citing reports from Fox Sports MX, state that Liverpool have agreed terms with Porto for the services of 26-year-old midfielder Hector Herrera, with Klopp overcoming the hurdle of negotiating a deal with Mexican side Pachuca, who own 30% of the player’s rights.
Herrera, who is also a target for Italian side Napoli, is said to have agreed terms with the Anfield outfit and is in-line to become Klopp’s fourth summer recruit, after Joel Matip, Marko Grujic and goalkeeper Lorius Karius.
However, the Reds are set to continue their summer spending as they aim to return to the Champions League spots next season, having missed out after a disappointing campaign this term, where they threw away a lead in the Europa League final against Sevilla.
Our landlord isn’t convinced about the pedigree of Liverpool’s summer recruits so far though and believes they need bigger additions if they are to compete with the Premier League’s top dogs.
Liverpool fans, how would you rate your summer activity so far? Let us know in the comments below!
