Klopp provides some good news for Liverpool ahead of Newcastle clash

For the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern, a win against Newcastle is absolutely essential…

The Reds drew in the week against Spartak Moscow, their second successive draw in the competition, leaving the fans in the pub feeling very frustrated indeed.

It was a disappointing result in a game that the Reds were expected to win, and now it now puts the pressure on the club as they begin to enter the crunch period of fixtures in Europe.

However, before that point, the Reds have to contend with the Premier League once again, and this weekend will not be an easy one for the club. Newcastle are the opponents this time around, who are, of course, led by former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez. They’ve been going well in the Premier League, and so a win is far from assured.

Fortunately, Jurgen Klopp has provided some good news ahead of the game, with injury expert Ben Dinnery sharing the news on Twitter that Klopp has revealed that there are no fresh injury concerns for the Reds.

With the frequency of fixtures beginning to pick up, it’s always a worry that injuries can crop up, but thus far, the Reds have been quite lucky.

It’s particularly good news for Klopp, as the German isn’t exactly blessed with depth, particularly in defence. It might not have been the perfect game in mid-week, but preparations appear to be going well.

Landlord’s Verdict

Sadio Mane is back this week, which when combined with a nearly fully fit squad – barring Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana – should give Jurgen Klopp a lot of choices against Newcastle.

The Magpies are a strong, resolute unit, and so the German will need to pick his side wisely in order to break them down.
