Klopp should make a bold decision and not start this Liverpool first team regular against Southampton – agreed?

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased that Jordan Henderson will be available for the Reds this weekend. He missed out on international duty through injury, but he appears to have made a rapid recovery – with many in the Transfer Tavern expecting him to feature for his club this weekend.

However, our landlord thinks that it might be time for him to have a day off against Southampton.

Though he is said to be fit, there are a few question marks over his fitness that remain. He’s clearly not yet at 100%, given his recent layoff, and so given that Liverpool should be able to beat Mauricio Pellegrino’s misfiring Saints relatively easily, it might be an opportunity for him to have a day off.

There are more pressing matters on Klopp’s mind, too. Though he has been short of options in different areas throughout the season, the heart of the midfield is an area of impressive depth. He has the likes of Emre Can, Gini Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to call upon, and whilst Henderson has been decent this term, each of the members of that talented trio have looked good too.

As the captain, Henderson can’t get a free pass and immediately return. Klopp must be fair and give everyone a chance. For this game, a few other players could be better suited – agreed?
