The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that a few deals can be tied up over the next few days…
Liverpool have been on fire this season, with Jurgen Klopp impressing at the helm of the Merseyside-giants – with many touting the Reds for a title challenge this season.
However, there can be no denying that since the turn of the year – things have been markedly less impressive, with many of the Reds in the Transfer Tavern clamouring for a few high-profile signings in the wake of Sadio Mane’s departure to the African Cup of Nations.
Unfortunately for them, though, Liverpool have been all quiet on the transfer front – and now Jurgen Klopp has revealed why that is the case.
According to the Guardian, he said: “I understand it is absolutely normal that people ask whether we should have brought players in….It is not that we don’t want to bring players in. We do. But the thing is…the clubs don’t sell.”
He continued: “Clubs are saying ‘No, we have half a year to go, we cannot find another player like this”.
A number of clubs have had trouble signing players so far, and so it certainly isn’t just a Liverpool issue. The Chelsea and Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern have been hoping to see a few players come in, but as of yet – neither side has had much luck either.
Our landlord thinks that clubs are being wise in not selling their best players, as a month is simply not enough time to adequately replace them and ensure that the business is done correctly.
The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are still disappointed, though, and are hoping that Klopp still has a trick up his sleeve. They’re not happy with their side’s performances at present, and defeat against Swansea City over the weekend has not gone down well in the Transfer Tavern…
