Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are debating whether a move made by their manager is the right one, amidst intense speculation regarding the future of one of their recent transfer flops.
Italian outlet Gazzetta World states Jurgen Klopp is set to welcome Mario Balotelli back to Merseyside in pre-season, after AC Milan turned down the option to purchase the controversial forward permamently this summer.
Balotelli spent last season on-loan at Milan, after struggling during his maiden campaign at Anfield following a £16m transfer in 2014, and the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, is likely to push for a transfer for his client this summer.
However, Klopp has invited Balotelli to pre-season training, which begins on July 2nd, and it could potentially open the way for a Premier League return for the player, should he impress.
Having scored just three goals for Milan during his loan spell last season, our landlord is not surprised that Milan do not want to sign this man permanently- but he feels he still has a lot to offer, if he finds his feet.
Liverpool fans, could Balotelli be an asset next season? Let us know in the comments below!
