The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern never know what they’re going to get with Daniel Sturridge…
On his day, Sturridge is one of Europe’s best forwards, but his day has simply not come often enough over the last few years. Under Brendan Rodgers and in collaboration with Luis Suarez, he was deadly – but he has yet to hit those heights since the departure of the now-Celtic boss.
Under Jurgen Klopp, he has struggled with injury and fitness woes – and he has resultantly lost his place in the Liverpool first team. After months of mediocrity, though, it would appear as though Jurgen Klopp has had enough.
According to the Mirror, Liverpool are set to sell Daniel Sturridge, with Klopp growing tired of his lack of reliability up front.
A summer move is reportedly on the cards for Sturridge, with Liverpool keen to reinvest the funds made from his sale into a new top class forward.
This news is bittersweet for the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern, as whilst many have grown frustrated at Sturridge, the fact remains that he has the potential to be absolutely unstoppable. If he was performing well, he would be in the side every week – but Jurgen Klopp simply doesn’t have any way of bringing the best out of him.
Scorer of just 2 Premier League goals this season, it simply hasn’t been good enough from Sturridge.
At least they will have the memories of the suitably named SAS, the combo of Suarez and Sturridge, to remember the Englishman by…
