Liverpool fans here in the Tavern aren’t too pleased with how Jurgen Klopp has handled the club’s current goalkeeping situation, as many supporters still want to see a new No 1 signed this summer.
The Reds have already managed to bolster their ranks this summer but there are still improvements to be had after witnessing the Champions League final disaster. Sadly, it doesn’t look as if Jurgen Klopp is going to seek a goalkeeping change this summer, as according to Sun Sport, Klopp is ready to end his pursuit of a goalkeeper.
Loris Karius is set to be Liverpool’s No 1 next season as Jurgen Klopp has reportedly given up on signing AS Roma’s highly-rated goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
Liverpool had been tracking the likes of Becker and Jack Butland, but both men now appear to be staying at their respective clubs this summer, so the German has been forced into making a decision.
Therefore, Karius will now be at the club for pre-season just a couple of months after his calamitous Champions League final where he gifted Real Madrid two goals.
It’s clear to see that Loris Karius is prone to making mistakes having let his side down on a number of occasions since making the move to Anfield. The Reds only just managed to secure a Champions League spot on the final day of last season as they overcame the challenges of Brighton, but they might not be as fortunate with Loris Karius in-between the sticks next season as competitors are strengthening in key areas that could hurt Liverpool.
