Klopp’s sluggish ways may have cost Liverpool a shot at European redemption – Report

Liverpool fans here in the Tavern will be desperate to see their side challenge some of the best teams in Europe once again next season after losing out in the Champions League final.

Indeed, the Reds were dominant in the Champions League last season as they just couldn’t stop scoring goals – but they ended up losing in the final due to a couple of silly mistakes. Although, it appears as if Jurgen Klopp isn’t in any real hurry to push through a deal for a midfielder, as according to the Mirror, Liverpool have spoken to Aston Villa over a possible move for Jack Grealish, but Klopp hasn’t responded with a firm bid.

Liverpool have spoken to Championship side Aston Villa over Jack Grealish.

And, much to the delight of many of our local Liverpudlians, the original asking price of £40 million has been drastically reduced to half that because Villa boss Steve Bruce has been told he can’t even bring in loan players until a significant sale of one of his stars.

However, the Reds aren’t the only team interested in the Englishman, as Spurs are prepared to offer Villa £15 million for their star man.

But, with Jurgen Klopp yet to respond with a firm bid, Tottenham Hotspur are in pole position to snatch Jack Grealish for a bargain price.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Jurgen Klopp’s sluggish transfer ways appear to have returned after failing to secure a central defender for a long while before bringing Virgil Van Dijk to Anfield. And, with the German in no real hurry to sign a goalkeeper this summer, it looks as if he’s in no rush to sign Grealish either.

The Englishman established himself as one of the standout performers in the Championship last season and could definitely become a Premier League star in the near future.

Liverpool are arguably one attacker away form having an unstoppable attacking line, which could mean that Klopp finally secures an elusive trophy. However, the Reds could miss out on a shot at Champions League redemption in the next campaign, with Spurs in pole position to sign the midfielder.
