Whether England get through to the knockout stages or not, the Three Lions will have the small matter of putting our enemies in Group C to the sword starting with the USA tonight.
Michael Bradley is a key player for the Yanks who just happen to be coached by his father Bob. There could be just a small hint of nepotism here as Michael remained uncapped right up until his dad’s appointment in December 2006.
He currently plies his trade with Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga after spending his youth playing for American sides no one’s ever heard of. He had in fact agreed a move to Birmingham in 2008 on the proviso that the Blues stayed in the Premiership. They didn’t and so Bradley opted to play on the continent instead.
Those that flock to the banner of St George will be pleased to hear that the 22-year-old has a history of ill-temper and receiving untimely cards. Young Michael was suspended during the Beijing Olympics and was sent off against Spain during last year’s Confederations Cup.
Here’s to a repeat performance then.
