According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are keen to land Man City defender Tosin Adarabioyo – and the Toffees in the Tavern desperately want to see the deal get completed…
Now, you could argue that the 19-year-old is not experienced enough to turn out regularly for the Toffees – but that might not be the case.
Everton have made a habit of developing young developers as of late, with John Stones and Mason Holgate both impressing after relatively low profile moves to Goodison Park. Stones, in particular, was brought in with relatively little fanfare – and just a few years later he was sold for nearly £50 million – signalling just how quickly Everton have been able to improve young defenders.
On a personal level, Adarabioyo looks more than ready for the Premier League. He is well built, strong and tall – which is certainly an advantage that he has over the likes of John Stones and Mason Holgate. He looks ready made for English football – and that has been exemplified with his fine performances through the Man City developmental system.
Game time is, quite clearly, the main factor behind the defender’s unhappiness at the Etihad – with Pep Guardiola failing to integrate the 19-year-old as quickly as had been expected in the Transfer Tavern – and Everton would certainly be able to offer that. Stones was a regular at Goodison Park whilst barely out of his teenage years – and the same would likely be said at Everton for Adarabioyo.
In summary, a deal for Adarabioyo makes a lot of sense for everyone involved. The player will move to a home in which he will be highly-valued, whilst Everton will be able to make use of him – with their defensive issues clear for all to see.
