Koeman: Schneiderlin will stay at Southampton

Ronald KoemanSouthampton’s opener was watched by many here in the Football Transfer Tavern and it was not the one-sided match that many had feared.

There were a lot of positives for Saints fans to take out of that game and one of the main ones was how well Morgan Schneiderlin played.

The French midfielder has been linked with Tottenham and Arsenal in recent weeks and it has even been suggested that he could be swapped for Spurs target Andros Townsend.

But according to the Daily Express Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has said that the midfielder is not available for any price.

Koeman said: “He showed his qualities last Sunday and we are happy to have him in our squad.

“Nothing depends on offers (for Schneiderlin) because he will stay in Southampton.”

When asked whether Southampton were interested in signing England winger Townsend the former Dutch international defender said that everything is possible.
