The mood of Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern has improved slightly after the London Evening Standard revealed comments made by Petr Cech’s agent who confirmed that his client is not leaving Chelsea next month.
Punters in the past few weeks have gone into detail discussing and suggesting teams where the Czech Republic international could move to in order to play first team football.
But the comments made by his agent Viktor Kolar have been made with the intention to end any speculation.
It was seen as inevitable to punters that the Chelsea legend would look to ply his trade elsewhere after playing second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois since the Blues’ season opener to Burnley.
The 32-year-old has since picked up interest from across Europe with elite sides such as Real Madrid, Roma and Paris Saint-Germain all reportedly interested, not to mention Arsenal.
But Cech’s representative Kolar said: “There has been no contact with AS Roma. Certainly Petr will not move during the transfer market in January.”
