If Tottenham want to close the gap with Liverpool and Manchester City, then the north London club need to add to their squad in the summer.
And while full-back is probably an area that does not need urgent attention, bringing in a fresh face there, which Mauricio Pochettino is said to be considering, would still be a good start.
Calciomercato (via Sport Witness) reports Paris Saint-Germain’s Layvin Kurzawa is a target for Tottenham and, with the 26-year-old’s contract set to expire at the end of next season, the Premier League outfit could now have the chance to bolster their squad on the cheap.
As already alluded to, Tottenham are not exactly starved of options when it comes to those full-back positions. On the left side, where Kurzawa plays, they currently have Danny Rose and Ben Davies.
That being said, injuries and time out of the team have taken something away from Rose, while Davies has never been the most explosive of full-backs going forward.
Kurzawa, in contrast, is much more dynamic when it comes to attacking and has the ability to be a real threat in the final third.
Defensively, the France international can improve. But if Pochettino really is looking for a new left-back, then he could do a lot worse than Kurzawa.
