La Liga club lining up move for Arsenal midfielder ahead of January window

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been impressed by Jack Wilshere’s showings in the cup competitions this season, although he has yet to be handed much of an opportunity in the league.

There is no doubting the central midfielder’s ability, the Arsenal fans keep telling us, but his injury record means that Arsene Wenger is reluctant to overplay him.

Now he is being linked with a move away.

According to The Sun, Real Betis want to sign Wilshere when the January transfer window re-opens.

Having played very few minutes in the Premier League so far this term and after being overlooked when Gareth Southgate announced his latest England squad, perhaps Jack Wilshere might feel that it is time to leave The Emirates.

The sporadic England international attracted interest in the summer from Real Betis as well as other clubs such as West Ham United and Italian Serie A outfit Sampdoria.

Real Betis seem keen to re-ignite their interest in the 25-year-old this winter as Wilshere enters the final six months of his current deal.

Jack Wilshere could link up with Arsenal team mate Joel Campbell at Real Betis if he does move there.

The Costa Rica international is currently out on loan with the Spanish club.
