La Liga giants aiming to beat Manchester United in transfer chase

Toni KroosManchester United supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are already feeling nervous ahead of tomorrow’s massive Champions League quarter-final second-leg against Bayern Munich.

David Moyes’ side travel to the Allianz Arena in search of a winning performance that will take them into the semi-finals and offer probably their only hope of securing Champions League football for next season – by winning the competition.

Now talkSPORT have some interesting claims for these Red Devils fans as they suggest that Real Madrid are preparing to challenge United for Bayern midfielder Toni Kroos in the summer.

In recent weeks the tavern has been buzzing with reports that the 24-year-old German international would consider a switch to Old Trafford at the end of the season despite the lack of elite European football available at the club.

He could depart the Bavarian giants after coming to a contract impasse with the Bundesliga champions and that has seen a number of top clubs interested. Real Madrid are the latest with the publication stating that Bernabeu club will try to sign him in the summer.

Kroos’ current contract runs until 2015 but with no sign of an agreement over a new deal, he could be on the move in the summer.

With speculation rapidly building about a possible switch to Old Trafford for Kroos, can you really see Moyes landing the German international this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
