Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern may be busy worrying about losing Yaya Toure but they could also face life without Edin Dzeko according to the Daily Star.
The City striker is yet to be offered a new deal at the Etihad Stadium and is entering the last year of his deal.
It is believed that Manuel Pellegrini wants him to stay at the club but Valencia are set to test their resolve.
The Spanish club are planning to make a huge splash in the transfer market once their debts are wiped out by Peter Lim.
And Lim sees Dzeko as a key part of the rebuilding process at Valencia and is preparing a £25 million big.
It’s yet another blow to City’s pre-season as they struggle to keep players happy at the club.
Earlier in the week Yaya Toure revealed that he may not be at the club next season and he’s not the only one rumoured to be on their way out.
With James Milner, Jack Rodwell, Scott Sinclair and Micah Richards all on the way out of the club.
The loss of Yaya Toure would be a killer blow for City but Dzeko leaving the club wouldn’t be all that easy to take either.
Dzeko scored some vital goals for the title winners last season – scoring five goals in their last four games of the campaign.
But Dzeko wasn’t a prominent starter under Pellegrini and he may be prepared to give up Champions League football for regular football and a bigger wage.
Manchester City fans. Will you mind if Dzeko leaves or does he deserve a new deal? Let us know your thoughts below.
