La Liga outfit poised to revive interest in Liverpool ace

Luis Suarez appears to be their number one target Liverpool supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are feeling quite content with life after the transfer saga involving Luis Suarez died down following the Uruguayan’s admission that he was happy to remain at Anfield for the near future.

However the rumours of Suarez leaving this summer have been dragged back up again by The Guardian who suggest that Real Madrid, the 26-year-old’s first preference, are planning to make a new bid for the former Ajax striker.

Liverpool are insistent that he will be not be sold this summer and Brendan Rodgers had repeated the claim from Reds owner John W. Henry that Suarez will play for Liverpool for the remainder of his contract.

Henry confirmed a few weeks ago that the club would not consider offers for Suarez for any side, no matter the size, and that none have been received since Arsenal’s last failed bid.

But with Gareth Bale’s switch from Tottenham to Madrid looking close to completion, the Bernabeu outfit appear to have changed focus to landing Suarez as a replacement for Karim Benzema.

The French international has been strongly linked with a move to Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal in the tavern recently after the Gunners failed to land Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid and Suarez from Liverpool.

When questioned on whether he expected Real to formalise their interest with an offer for Suarez before the September 2nd deadline, the Liverpool manager said: “I’m sure there will be plenty of activity in these last number of days. It is what it is, and we will deal with it like we have during the summer.

“It’s very difficult at this time [for a Suárez bid to succeed]. We are trying to get one or two more quality players in through the door. If we lose Luis at this stage it would be difficult to replace him. There might have been a point a few months ago where there was time to do it but with 11 days to go it would be difficult to replace him.”

Will Real now move for Suarez to complete their deadly looking strikeforce? Let us know your thoughts below.
