Manchester United fans are looking concerned here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed in the Daily Mail that the club could well be faced with an offer for Javier Hernandez.
The forward has not played as much as he would have liked in the last season under Alex Ferguson and despite still netting the goals when he did get the chance, the ‘little pea’ found himself not only behind Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie in the pecking order but also Danny Welbeck who did not exactly light up the world with his performances last season.
Now it seems that La Liga giants Valencia are prepared to make an offer to new manager David Moyes to get the player on loan at the Mestalla for a season – the club are of course facing up to life without Roberto Soldado who looks odds on favourite to join Andre Villas-Boas at Spurs this summer as the North London club look determined to land a top class forward and Valencia are fully aware they need a replacement.
They are not the only side to show interest in the little forward however and both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have considered making moves for the striker in the past. Given that David Moyes is unsure over the future of Rooney, allowing another forward to leave may well leave him short and as one of our punters’ quips, you can never score to many goals.
