Arsenal fans look sick to the stomach here in the Football Transfer Tavern after the Daily Star claim that one of their former players has passed a medical at Chelsea.
The star in question is Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who if he was not disliked after his attempts to push through a move from Arsenal to Barcelona back in 2011, he certainly will be now!
It seems that despite Arsenal and Manchester United also being keen on the midfielder, it is Jose Mourinho and Chelsea who will come out on top, with the player allegedly having passed a medical at the club leaving only a fee to be arranged between the Blues and Barcelona.
We are surprised that Cesc has seemingly opted to join Chelsea given his troubled relationship with manager Jose Mourinho, who he clashed with on a number of occasions when the pair were both in Spain – but then again in football, money talks.
Chelsea have been in sore need of a world class midfielder to provide them with a little bit of creativity and those goals that Frank Lampard used to produce and evidently the Blues’ board think that they can get that from Fabregas.
Chelsea fans. Is this a good move by the club or should Frank Lampard have been offered a new deal to see out his career at Stamford Bridge? Let us know your thoughts below.
